PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

 

MICROSOFT EXCEL – LEVEL 1
This course teaches you how to use Microsoft Excel to create and edit professional-looking spreadsheets. Learn to format and enhance worksheets and use simple formats. No previous Excel experience is necessary, but basic familiarity with using a computer is required. Please bring a memory stick (USB) to class.

MICROSOFT EXCEL – LEVEL 2
Learn how to apply basic skill sets in Microsoft Excel, along with some intermediate to advanced functions to manage and audit numerical reports. Topics covered include: perform calculations, customize charts, and manage lists. Please bring a memory stick (USB) to class.
Prerequisites: to register, students must have successfully completed our course Microsoft Excel – Level 1 or have equivalent knowledge & experience.

MICROSOFT POWERPOINT WORKSHOP
Learn to create and share dynamic presentations. This course teaches how to create professional presentations that will engage and captivate your audience.

MICROSOFT WORD – LEVEL 1
Approximately 90% of all work done on a personal computer is word processing. Learn how to use Microsoft Word to write and print out letters and much more. Please bring a memory stick (USB) to class. Topics covered include: create new documents, edit and enhance documents, open and save files, and print documents.

MICROSOFT WORD – LEVEL 2
This course offers intermediate skills with Microsoft Word to produce professional-looking business documents. Topics covered include: inserting pictures or shapes, setting up columns of information, saving repetitive pieces of text or graphics for easy access at a later date, and styles and templates. Prerequisites: to register, students must have successfully completed Microsoft Word – Level 1 or have equivalent knowledge & experience.

Refund policy

Fee payments originally made by credit card are credited back to the same card; for expired or invalid credit cards, refunds are made by cheque. Fee payments originally made by cash or cheque are made by cheque. Please allow 3 weeks for processing.

Cancelled courses
When a course is cancelled by Burnaby CCE, a full refund will be issued.

Full time certificate / diploma programs
Requests for refunds received in writing (email) at least 1 week prior to classes starting will have $100 deducted from the course fee. Requests received less than a week prior to classes starting will have $200 deducted from the course fee. There will be no refunds once classes begin.

Part time certificate / diploma programs
Requests for refunds received in writing (email) at least 1 week prior to classes starting will have $25 deducted from the course fee. Refunds received less than a week prior to classes starring will have $50 deducted from the course fee. There will be no refunds once classes begin.

Career & Business Training/General Interest Courses
Requests for refunds received in writing (email) at least 2 days prior to the course starting will be refunded the course fee minus $20. Requests for refunds received less than 2 days prior to the course starting will be refunded the course fee minus $30. There will be no refunds once a course starts.
